Wohler Technologies has inked a licensing agreement with Eyeheight which will see Wohler integrate the company’s KARMAudioRT loudness control technology into a 2-RU card compatible with any Ross openGear frame, and with the openGear DashBoard network control and monitoring application.

In August 2010, the EBU published its Loudness Recommendation EBU R128, which details how broadcasters can measure and normalise audio using Loudness meters instead of Peak Meters. 47 manufacturers now support it in its patchy roll out across the EBU member states, with Germany’s Jünger Audio one of the ones benefitting from it the most.

Germany: The recent announcement by the EBU that German public and commercial TV broadcasters are harmonizing on the R128 Loudness recommendation for their audio levels has come as no surprise to dynamics processing manufacturer Jünger Audio, which already supplies EBU R128-compliant loudness processing equipment to all of the major players in the German market.
