Broadcast Rental introduces scalable, lightweight UHD Fly-Pack

The new Fly-Pack can accommodate cameras of any brand

Broadcast Rental has introduced a scalable, lightweight UHD-capable Fly-Pack to the market. The system is described as an ultra-compact portable solution that delivers a powerful workflow to simplify and support complex live productions anywhere in the world.

It is prepared for up to 16 camera channels but is said to be easy to expand to up to 24 camera channels by adding another CCU module. The customer can decide on the brand and type of camera to be used.

The Fly-Pack can not only accommodate common B4 mount cameras like Grass Valley and Sony, but also large sensor cinema cameras, in combination with Ereca Camracers, such as the Sony Venice, F55 or Arri Alexa. In addition, the brand of the intercom system, audiodesk, and videoswitch are flexible if required. Users can choose any brand they prefer.

The Broadcast Rental Fly-Pack is designed for large UHD productions. At its heart is the Ross Ultrix router together with Axon Cerebrum control platform. Key elements of the setup use IP, such as the RTS Odin Intercom, Tallysystem, KVM extension and Dante audio distribution systems. Based on this proven IP infrastructure, Broadcast Rental’s Fly-Pack is said to be ready to deliver any future needs.

The core of the pack is the Ross Ultrix 144 x 144 router. This router is equipped with all available licenses, such as 12 multiviewer outputs and embedding and de-embedding MADI streams.

In the standard set-up, the Fly-Pack is equipped with Ross XPression graphics and a Ross Carbonite Black production switcher.
