Evertz adds Bravo to DreamCatcher live media platform

BRAVO features a scalable IP-based architecture

Evertz has expanded its portfolio by adding Bravo to the DreamCatcher suite of live production tools.

Designed for virtualised live production, Bravo’s scalable IP-based architecture provides content producers with the flexibility of setting up a live switching interface on any public or private cloud environment.

Bravo can also use Media Asset Management (MAM) and playout services through the cloud to create a comprehensive production platform that Evertz believes is ideal for remote for entertainment, gaming and sports productions.

Additionally, Bravo is said to provide all of the essential storytelling tools through an intuitive user surface that can auto-tailor itself based on the needs of each production.

The platform also includes several co-pilot automation tools designed to automate highlight creation, graphics overlays, replay playout and scripted playout, among other things.

In August 2020 it was announced that Discovery had become the first broadcaster in the world to implement Bravo. The system is being used by Discovery as the production backbone for its direct-to-consumer streaming service Food Network Kitchen.
