Harmonic’s VOS360 Live Streaming Platform now has 1+1 geo-redundancy, multi-CDN, caching

Harmonic’s VOS360 live streaming platform has benefited from a series of upgrades that the company claims will make live streaming of sports simpler.

The platform now features new seamless 1+1 geo-redundancy capabilities, ensuring uninterrupted streaming, as well as multi-CDN and caching, to effectively manage peak viewing.

With support for Google Ad Manager and FreeWheel ad management platforms, Harmonic believes these new features will helps sports rights holders monetise OTT offerings and boost revenue.

In the fast-paced sports market, the company notes that delivering a high-quality user experience for OTT live streaming is important. With this in mind, the VOS360 platform reduces latency for live sports streaming with CMAF and Apple Low-Latency HLS protocol support. The VOS360 platform is said to streamline the delivery of live sports coverage to any screen and to unify workflows, simplifying end-to-end operations and enhancing service offerings with extensive functionalities. These include live or file transcoding, packaging and origin, dynamic real-time CDN selection, targeted advertising, VOD, SVOD, time-shift and network DVR.
