IBC 2019: Clear-Com to focus on IP-based intercom solutions in Amsterdam

Clear-Com will present a broad range of IP-based products and professional intercom communication tools at IBC 2019.

Among the highlights will be solutions that support SMPTE 2110-30 and meet the challenges of all IP-based production workflows, including remote production.

Bob Boster, the president of Clear-Com, said: “We are delighted to be showcasing our latest offerings at IBC2019 and playing an important part in the industry-wide adoption of an all-IP production workflow. We are also excited to be launching a ground-breaking new product at the show.”

Products showcased on the booth will include the V-Series Iris intercom panel working alongside a new version of Eclipse HX which will now support SMPTE 2110-30 and AES67 interoperability.

The IP toolset within Eclipse provides a range of benefits including: LAN/WAN/Internet-based panel deployment; simple configuration; IP-based control mechanisms including HCI and Logic-Maestro; the ability to interface and leverage third-party devices; LQ, SIP, and Agent-IC integration; and AES67 support for wireless and wired interconnects.

The V-Series Iris Panel can monitor and send communications over three concurrent full-duplex uncompressed audio IP streams, enabling systems to deliver high quality, uncompressed AES67 audio from user to user with significantly reduced latency, the company said.

Also featured on the Clear-Com booth will be the LQ Series IP Interfaces. These Audio-over-IP interfaces allow users to move and distribute audio and communications signals, SIP and Network Control Events (GPIO) to and from one or more communication points depending on user configuration.

Geographically-dispersed audio and communications devices of any brand or technology type can be networked over secure LAN, WAN or even Public Internet.

The FreeSpeak II wireless intercom system is another chapter in Clear-Com’s IP story. The FreeSpeak II IPT Transceiver utilises the AES67 transport, low latency signal distribution, high radio performance and high audio bandwidth, all of which enables FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks to be deployed across a user’s LAN. The IPT connects to an AES67-compatible IP router and to Clear-Com’s Eclipse HX system via the E-IPA card.

For outside broadcasts or productions with crews split across large areas, Clear-Com’s Agent-IC mobile app can be downloaded onto Apple or Android mobile devices, connecting securely and confidently to core intercom users across multiple IP networks over 3G, 4G and WiFi.

At IBC, Clear-Com will be showing a Sonim Android ruggedised phone running both Agent-IC and the Trilogyâ Mobile App, ideally suited for outdoor broadcast and other harsh environments, including marine.
