Thomas Schöneich

EHF, Director of Media & Communications

Thomas Schöneich has been working for the European Handball Federation (EHF), the Vienna-based umbrella organisation for handball in Europe, since 2012. In 2019, he took over as the federation’s Director Media & Communications. The 42-year-old started out as a newspaper journalist in Germany. Moving into sports journalism and media operations from the early 2000s onwards, he worked at several major events, including Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Rugby World Cup. As head of the EHF’s media and communications department and the federation’s spokesperson, he oversees the federation’s internal and external communications including its owned and operated channels and the corresponding content production.
