Senior Product Manager, BBC
Lawrence Windley is Senior Product Manager for the BBC’s Broadcast and End User Technology Group. The focus of his current role is on enabling more flexible and scalable content production workflows, particularly for Sport. Cloud and platform-enabled products are key to this.
In a 30+ year career he has been successful in both media production and technology roles. An Imperial College engineering graduate, he completed a BBC Traineeship in picture editing and went on to edit, direct and produce across news, current affairs, light entertainment, and sport for many other broadcasters.
He was part of the engineering team at non-linear editing pioneer Lightworks, and later led Avid’s technical pre-sales operation. He holds a Technical Achievement Emmy for TV coverage of the America’s Cup. Before joining BBC Technology, he was responsible for the design and operational delivery of the postproduction systems for major events including the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
