Emili Planas

Mediapro, CTO and Operations Manager

Since 2008 Emili has been the Operations Manager for LaLiga TV productions and since 2015 he has overseen operations and engineering definitions for UHD-HDR LaLiga productions (76 productions per season). From 2007 to the present, he heads up New Projects & Applied Technologies, Remote Production, plus R&D Implementation in daily operations.

Between 2007 and 2016 Emili was involved with designing, implementing and managing video over IP networks connecting all Mediapro production centres and field production venues (up to 63 sites worldwide). From 2004 to the present his projects have included: Launching laSexta, among others (three networks) and a Playout Centre in Barcelona for 25 live channels; GolT, Fox Sports EU, LaLigaTV, Marca TV, F1 Latin America, BeIn ESP, Eleven Sports Poland and Belgium, 8TV, Telefoot France, Movistar Laliga and more.

In 2000 he became a member of the Mediapro Consultant Team for Operations & Technical Resources Optimisation. He is also a consultant for ESPN Production Center (Buenos Aires), Imagina US (Miami), and Operations Optimisation Adviser (International Projects).

Emili is on the board of UHD Spain, where Mediapro is a founding member, and is a vital part of the SVG Europe Advisory Board.
