Director of Broadcast and Media, Formula 1
Dean has been at Formula 1 for 25 years, originally working on Bernie Ecclestone’s Digital PPV feeds. From 2004 he ran the TV Production Department creating a single World Feed Production team for all events and directed over 250 races World Feed Productions for which the broadcasts received multiple awards including a BAFTA. Formula 1 coverage has always been on the forefront of innovation in challenging environments.
After Liberty Media’s acquisition of Formula 1 in 2018 Dean was promoted to the role of Director of Broadcast and Media. His division incorporates Live Broadcast feeds, On Board Camera, Media Content, Digital Delivery and Platform Architecture, Media Engineering and Commercial Partner Representation.
In 2020 Dean’s division became instrumental in assisting Formula 1 to become the first sports production with a UHD Remote Operation to deploy globally, fast tracking a long-term sustainability project to meet the health and safety requirements presented by COVID-19, no mean feat given the roadmap was three years away and Formula 1 had to implement in seven weeks.
He is also the proud father of triplets.
