Broadcast Executive Director, Formula 1
Phil Rorke joined Formula 1 as an employee in 1998; and his first role was working in the video library, creating rush edits for TV orders.
Things move very quickly in Formula 1 and within a few months Phil was on his way to Melbourne for the first race of the 1999 season, operating a replay system. Since then, he has always been part of the World Feed, across various broadcast disciplines: Replay Operator, On Board Director, Graphics Operator, Track Directors PA, Track Director and finally, stand-in World Feed Director.
In 2004 Formula 1 took on a small number of host broadcasts and are now responsible for all but one (Monaco) of the 23 races planned over the 2021 season.
In 2018 Phil took on the responsibility of directing the World Feed full time, drawing on his experience of the many roles he has been involved for nearly 23 years!
