Axel has been working with Borussia Dortmund since 1999. After studying communications at TU Berlin and working self-employed as a video producer, he first managed the relaunch of the club’s new homepage. From 2003, video footage such as match reports and interviews were integrated. Borussia Dortmund’s TV output went HD in 2011. At that point, Axel coordinated a crew of six responsible for producing all video content. BVB World – Dortmund‘s international magazine – started during the same year, distributing content to more than 30 countries worldwide. In 2018, Dortmund launched it’s first OTT platform without any other partner being involved content-wise but with Sportradar as the technical contractor. Axel, in charge on Dortmund’s side, is now leading a team of 12 that creates video content across all the club’s platforms including bvb.tv, facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
