SVG Europe Women Scotland returns to Glasgow (The Exchange, 29 Royal Exchange Square, G1 3AJ) for the fifth time with QTV. This year our panellists will discuss ‘The Power of Legacy’, looking at what ‘legacy’ truly means for a world event in sports broadcasting, from how it is built to how it endures, and how Scotland can harness this moment to strengthen pathways for women in technical roles for years to come and turn an opportunity into economic growth.

Why legacy matters in world stage events
Legacy is not accidental. It is designed, delivered, and sustained through collaboration across organisers, broadcasters, freelancers, and suppliers. In this session, our expert panel will discuss what broadcast legacy means beyond infrastructure and short term jobs into how the stakeholders of a sporting event can contribute to long-term capability, innovation, and talent development.

Rise showcase
Rise Women in Broadcast is a global non-profit with groups in the US, APAC, EMEA and ANZ. Our speakers will discuss how organisations such as Rise can integrate legacy programmes with their day-to-day objectives.

Scotland’s legacy going forwards
After the spotlight of a major sporting event fades, it is key that what happens next for the legacy pathway continues. With major events coming to Scotland and running legacy programmes, we need to ensure that legacy projects are successful and that they open doors to entice more events to come to Scotland. Our speakers look at the long term economic goals for Scotland, and how the country can sustain talent and industry opportunities.
