Senior Marketing Manager, International Hockey Federation
Nicolas Maingot started his professional career in 1993 as a media officer at the French Football Association (FFF). He was, amongst others, in charge of the media relations and operations of the U21 French national team, which played at the 1996 Olympic Games. In 2001, he was hired by the world’s governing body of football, FIFA, also as a media officer. He stayed 15 years within the Communications Division of FIFA. During this time, he had different roles, including Head of the Media Department as well as Acting Director of Communications and Public Affairs. He was FIFA’s main spokesman at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, the first FIFA World Cup being staged on the African continent. He was also involved in the Olympic football tournaments in 2008 and 2012.
In 2017, Nicolas moved to the Swiss national TV and radio company (SRG SSR), as Deputy Head of Communications. A year later, he returned to international sports as Senior Communications Manager of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), a position he is still holding today. In this role, he overviews all corporate and event communications matters and activities of FIH.
