Felix Krückels is a Professor of Broadcast Production & System Design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences where he takes care of the upcoming generation of TV sound engineers and supervisors.
A graduate of the renowned University of Music in Detmold, Germany, where he gained a Tonmeister Diploma, Krückels has spent 20 years working in the broadcast industry. He worked with Lawo for 15 of those, in product management and business development where he gained experience in modern television workflows. While there, he was involved with the development of the m² Series consoles (from 2004-2013) and the evolution of IP-based systems such as the Lawo commentary Unit and the Video-Line.
Krückels has also worked extensively as a sound mixer, working in surround sound and Dolby Atmos on various sports productions including coverage of the Bundesliga, Euroleague, the Champions League, and both the World Cup and European Championship. Additionally, at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt-Diebur, he has conducted several tests and completed researched into improving immersive and object-based sound creation.
