Interra Systems to Showcase Video Analysis and QC Tools
Interra Systems, a provider of software for video analysis and quality control, will be demonstrating the latest versions of its products at NAB 2015. The demonstrations will include Baton, the market’s leading automated, file-based QC system; the VEGA software platform for analysis and debug of encoded media; and Orion, a real-time content monitoring system that collects and examines both QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience) analytics.
Interra Systems will be exhibiting on booth SU7105 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 13-16, 2015.
What’s new with Baton
The Baton software solution, now on version 6.0, is a multi-platform, automated content verification (quality control) system for file-based SD, HD, and mixed workflows. Interra Systems will demonstrate some of Baton’s new features such as additional subtitling and closed caption format support, enhanced 4K and HEVC support, better visual checking, multi-language support for QC reports, and multi-severity quality checks, a feature that is unique to Baton. The company has also expanded Baton integration support with third-party technology partners and extended new smart folder functionality.
The new Baton+ product release adds workflow QC capabilities and data analysis. The tool can aid in decision-making and offers the possibility of performing quality control on the workflow itself, for example, analyzing only the changes between files of the same origin instead of reviewing the derivative file(s) from scratch. Baton+ seamlessly integrates with multiple Baton systems for managing, analyzing and reporting Baton’s long-term QC data.
“With its advanced features, better third-party technology integration, and better scalability Baton 6.0 represents a significant leap forward in file-based QC technology,” said Ashish Basu, Vice President of Global Business Development for Interra Systems. “Baton+ embodies the industry’s first integrated data analytics and content-centric workflow technology. Together, Baton 6.0 and Baton+ raise the bar on file-based workflows in general and file-based QC in particular.”
What’s new with VEGA
Interra Systems will demonstrate the full Vega product suite: Vega HEVC, Vega H264, Vega VP9, the Vega Transport Stream Analyzer and AVSync. Some of the latest updates include:
- Video quality checks for HEVC and 4K content
- Video comparison between streams compressed using different standards such as H.264 and HEVC
- Enhancements in the YUV quality viewer
- Dolby AC-4 audio support
- Support for MPEG-Dash
The Vega product suite allows users to gauge the compression efficiency of encoders as well as pinpoint any errors they may produce when encoding. The software helps significantly reduce R&D and QA time in delivering standards-compliant media content. Vega supports a range of media formats and DTV standards such as H.264, MPEG-2, HEVC, VP9, CC, MP4, ATSC, and DVB, among others.
What’s new with Orion
Orion is an advanced monitoring platform that allows its customers to deliver videos with superior QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience). The integrated platform performs all critical monitoring functions on up to hundreds of services simultaneously from a single platform. The newest version of Orion supports virtualization and comprehensive QoE evaluation on HEVC and 4K content.
“Orion is the only content monitor solution in the industry today that is capable of running on a virtualized platform,” said Anupama Anantharaman, Director of Product Marketing and Business Development. “With this feature, Orion customers will be able to take advantage of the scalability, efficiency and cost benefits of virtualization.”
Orion specialists will demonstrate:
- Orion software running in virtualized mode
- Comprehensive QoE on HEVC and 4K content
- Ad-Insertion monitoring including SCTE-35 cue messages and post-insertion verification for regulatory compliance
- In-depth audio and video quality monitoring
- Closed caption data monitoring
- Tools such as historic reports, alerts, metrics, and analytics
Orion’s Central Manager provides an operator with complete visibility of all Orion-monitored points in the entire network, including thumbnails, video services status and error reports. Users can drill down to any program in any of the monitoring probes for quick problem identification and proactive problem resolution.
