2020 NAB Show New York shifts to virtual event
The online event will take place in autumn 2020, but no specific date is provided
Following in the footsteps of the 2020 NAB Show in Las Vegas, this autumn’s NAB Show New York is going virtual. The NAB Show New York, originally scheduled for October 21-22, will now be a digital event similar to the organisation’s NAB Show Express efforts last month.
According to a letter distributed on Tuesday from NAB’s EVP of Conventions & Business Operations Chris Brown, the decision follows extensive surveying of the show community and consultation with state and local officials in New York, as well as the Javits Convention Center. The online event will take place in autumn 2020, but no specific date was provided.
The NAB Show NY programme will feature TVNewsCheck’s TV2025 and Post|Production World Online, produced in partnership with Future Media Conferences, among other conference programs. The virtual show will also feature a platform for exhibitors to share product information, provide demonstrations, and make announcements. Additionally, the online event will provide educational content and opportunities for the community to network virtually. NAB said it would share additional details on the digital event in the coming weeks and months.
“Our goal for the digital experience is to provide a valuable forum for the industry to restart, refocus and re-engage,” Brown said. “We look forward to your continued engagement and convening in person in 2021 at NAB Show in Las Vegas and NAB Show New York.”
