Cooperation and expansion planned as TVN Live Production acquires fellow German OB firm TopVision

Germany’s TVN Live Production has acquired fellow outside broadcast facilities provider TopVision Telekommunikation, with the company brand, HQ and management team all included in the deal.

100 per cent of the shares in the Berlin-based OB company have been acquired by TVN in a move that will see TopVision continue to operate independently as a subsidiary of its new parent company.

TopVision was founded in 1993. It runs three OB units and has around 40 employees. It works mainly in sport, particularly football.

TVN managing director Markus Osthaus said the acquisition will “increase performance and flexibility in the interests of customers.”

“Continuity and partnership are also our top priorities when it comes to customer relationships,” he added. “We will continue to maintain these with our existing contacts, and we will be able to serve them even better – thanks to the greater possibilities.”

TopVision managing director Achim Jendges said: “I am delighted that TopVision will remain a relevant unit on the market after more than 30 years.

“I see the future for the company and its employees in good hands.”

Based on the new corporate structure, the “good cooperation between the companies will be further expanded”, TVN added

TVN Live Production is a joint venture between TVN Group Holding (65%) and Sportcast (35%). The TVN GROUP is owned by Mediengruppe Madsack. Sportcast is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DFL.
