Grup Mediapro to produce the main competitions of the World Karate Federation

Grup Mediapro is set to produce the main competitions of the World Karate Federation in 2024 and 2025 through its Broadcast and Media Services division, which specialises in audiovisual services. The goal of the agreement is to enhance the generation and quality of content and thereby boost audiences for these events.

The group will produce the six tournaments of the competition in 2024 and a minimum of seven in 2025. It will be the host broadcaster for three of the federation’s main international competitions such as the Premier League European and World Championships, which will be held in 2024 and 2025 in Paris (France), Cairo (Egypt), Casablanca (Morocco) and Antalya (Turkey).

The alliance also includes an agreement with the European Karate Federation to produce the European Karate Championships, which will be held in Croatia in 2024 and in Armenia in 2025. Grup Mediapro will deploy significant technical and human resources to generate the audiovisual signal for these events and will be responsible for producing a 25-minute programme on each Premier League tournament.
