IMG acquires broadcast fibre service provider Cingularity to boost content delivery capability
IMG has acquired the London-based sports broadcast fibre service provider Cingularity. The deal, for which no financials were revealed, will boost IMG Productions’ content delivery capabilities for federations, events and broadcasters, the company said.
Cingularity specialises in remote production video solutions and has worked closely with IMG in recent years to support remote production for clients, including Amazon for tennis and EuroLeague basketball.
As the market for remote production continues to rapidly grow and the world moves toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP, Cingularity’s best-in-class technology will allow IMG to develop a bespoke inhouse remote production solution incorporating connectivity.
The company stated that this acquisition will be an important addition to IMG’s suite of production and distribution services and solutions.
Cingularity’s founder Dan Pope and his team, based in the UK and Stockholm, Sweden, will become part of IMG.
