LaLiga launches FAST channel with behind-the-scenes content

LaLiga has launched a new channel that will feature documentaries and programmes created by football clubs playing in Spain’s top two tiers.

Content will include reports from LaLiga Genuine, a football league which is composed of teams consisting of players with intellectual disabilities, plus LaLiga Studios a sport-content focused production company from Banijay Iberia and LaLiga, and LaLiga+ an online platform and app which hosts ancillary LaLiga football content plus action from other sports in Spain.

In a statement, LaLiga described the linear, 24-hour channel as “a unique and pioneering channel among the major leagues” and said the channel would be “dedicated to getting to know the organisation from the inside, offering a corporate perspective and engaging content for the sports industry”.

The channel will also feature sports content, such as recaps of the leagues LaLiga and LaLiga 2.

The channel will be available on LaLiga+ at no extra cost and on Samsung devices free of charge through the Samsung TV Plus streaming service and other FAST platforms such as Xiaomi TV+, Tivify and LG Channels.

It is LaLiga’s second linear channel, following the launch of LaLiga+, which hosts live content from major competitions such as the Copa Conmebol Libertadores, AFC Champions League, Taça de Portugal, LEB Oro basketball, Plenitude handball, athletics competitions and Sail GP regattas.
