SES looks to ‘engage further with sports media industry’ as it renews Gold SVG Europe sponsorship

Content connectivity service provider SES has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe.

The company, which has more than 70 satellites in two different orbits, offers a vast network of satellite and ground infrastructure to manage and deliver high-performance video and data solutions across the globe.

SES works with leagues, federations, rights holders and broadcasters to deliver more than 700 hours of live sports daily. Its sports media centre within IMG’s London Stockley Park facility connects to the SES network for content aggregation, management and delivery of sports and live events.

“Our long-standing partnership with SVG Europe allows us to engage further with the sports media industry, with the last 12 months seeing SES strengthen its place as one of the market’s leading sports content enablers,” said Michele Gosetti, head of sports & events, SES. “In 2023, SES managed and delivered a host of top sporting events from national to world championships across many sports. Also over the last year, our European distribution & contribution migrated to a new neighbourhood on Astra 1 Sports, and we launched a new IP offering via SES Score that enabled many sporting events.

“The coming year promises to be every bit as exciting with some huge events installed – motorsports, football, golf, tennis and more. It’s a challenging time but definitely a rewarding one as SES will see some of the biggest events of 2024 being broadcast through our global network.”

The company is also set to launch two new satellites at 19.2E, including the first software-defined satellite from SES.
