Sony Professional lands deal with TV4 Sweden for news upgrade

Sony Professional has a new deal with TV4, Sweden’s largest commercial news broadcaster. The general agreement includes circa 50 new cameras that TV4 will purchase over the course of a year. The new deal was completed in the beginning of April and will be fully implemented over the course of the next 12 months. Sony will initially deliver 50 new camera units of models PXW-X70 and PXW-X200.

Sony will provide both national and local news reporters within the TV4 group with new camera units. The X70 unit is especially important as TV4 is moving to smaller cameras that are easier to handle and makes their reporters more agile in the field. The cameras will enable reporters to edit material in the field and send live material to their editors via smartphones, tablets or laptops in low resolution, which later can be converted to high resolution.

In the end, the goal is to help TV4 to publish stories faster both on linear TV and online for their audiences,” said Henrik Felixon, Key Account Manager for Broadcast in the Nordics & Baltics.
