Spain’s RTVE to televise Extreme E X Prixs

Spanish broadcaster RTVE (Radiotelevisión Española) will televise all five of this season’s Extreme E X Prixs on its free-to-air linear channel. The championship’s race highlights, review and magazine shows – which will all be broadcast in Spanish – will join the line-up of coverage on RTVE’s primary channel, Teledeporte. In addition, Extreme E’s thrilling race action will be live streamed on the station’s digital platform, www.rtve.es.

Based in Madrid, RTVE is Spain’s largest public media organisation. The company is well-known for its commitment to new technologies and sustainable development, making it a perfect broadcast partner for Extreme E which aims to promote the uptake of electric vehicles in society through its ‘sport for purpose’ series.

Extreme E makes its debut in 18 days in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. Each team will race the ODYSSEY 21, an electric SUV designed to take on five formidable environments – arctic, glacier, desert, rainforest and coastal. Each location in which Extreme E will race has been detrimentally affected by the climate crisis, and the series will shine a spotlight on these issues and leave a long-lasting positive impact through its Legacy Programmes.

Teams taking part are: ACCIONA | Sainz XE Team and Hispano Suiza Xite Energy Team (Spain); Chip Ganassi Racing and Andretti United (USA); Veloce Racing, JBXE by Jenson Button and X44 by Lewis Hamilton (UK); ABT CUPRA XE and Rosberg X Racing (Germany).

Following the inaugural race in Saudi Arabia (3-4 April), Extreme E will visit Senegal (29-30 May), Greenland (28-29 August), Brazil (23-24 October) and Patagonia (11-12 December).
