Streamteam to share insights on remote production and sustainability as SVG Europe Gold sponsor

Ice hockey makes up a significant element of Streamteam’s work

Broadcast technology services provider Streamteam has joined SVG Europe as a Gold sponsor.

The company, which began streaming horse racing, has grown to become one of the largest video and audio production companies in the Nordic region. It provides remote, studio and outdoor production services as well as playout, streaming, recording and archiving, technical content monitoring and satellite services.

Streamteam handles over 2,300 live sports productions each year. This includes more than 650 ice hockey productions for Finnish Hockey League, CHL and national ice hockey, as well as over 900 horse racing productions – all produced remotely. This significantly reduces the need for personnel and equipment to be sent on location creating clear environmental benefits. In fact, sustainability is a key consideration for the team; the goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions has been part of company strategy since 2018 and it is now carbon neutral and provides carbon neutral TV productions. The company has also been granted ISO 9001 certification guaranteeing continuous development and quality.

Streamteam CEO Johanna Koskela said: “Participating in the development of the sports broadcasting industry is very important to us, so we are proud to sponsor SVG Europe and looking forward to connecting with other members of the group.

“Our intension is to share our knowledge of the production innovations we have developed to ensure that TV spectators will get unforgettable sports experiences. We have been providing remote productions for sports series since 2011, so we have gained ten years of experience to share. The next challenge for the industry is to provide environmentally friendly productions to reduce CO2 emissions. We have been able to provide carbon neutral productions since the beginning of 2021 and we’re eager to share ideas with other members to go further.”
