Sunset+Vine to produce coverage of the Riyadh Season Cup

Sunset+Vine is producing the coverage of The Riyadh Season Cup for Alamiya Media.

The Riyadh Season Cup is part of the annual Saudi Arabian state-funded entertainment and sport festival known as The Riyadh Season.

This year will see a clash of the titans, dubbed ‘The Last Dance’, as Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami takes on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr. Both teams will also play Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Sunset+Vine will produce the Arabian studio output for the coverage which will be broadcast over four channels – MBC, BEIN Sports, DAZN and the Saudi Sports Channel (SSC) – and air across the Middle East and North Africa.

Host Broadcaster Alamiya Media will be the team’s key technical supplier throughout the Riyadh Season Cup, with a live studio, located in the heart of the Kingdom Arena, hosting presenter Walid Al-Farraj together with three experts, Al Hilal’s Sami Al-Jaber, Al Nasr’s Mohaisen Al-Jamaan, and Egyptian Analyst Tamer Badawi, providing live analysis. In addition, Khaled Al-Arafa will be reporting pitch side, alongside a fourth expert guest, to bring players and manager reactions during the games.

The entire presentation will be in Arabic, with a multinational crew – from the UK, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Ireland and more – delivering the production service. The set, graphics and augmented reality package have been designed solely for these three games, bringing unique and innovative elements to the coverage.

Nick Moody, head of broadcast at Sunset+Vine, said: “We are honoured to have been chosen by Alamiya Media to produce these three programmes. It is also an acknowledgement of the editorial, creative and technical quality of our football production teams in both the UK & Italy who are coming together to deliver these productions.”

Sultan Al Muheisen, chairman of Alamiya Media, added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Sunset+Vine for The Last Dance, with high-profile, clash of titan’s, matches.  The Riyadh Season is an important event for the city, and our target is to provide the highest international broadcast standards – there isn’t a team we could trust more to deliver expert and exciting coverage.”

Inter Miami v Al-Hilal takes place on 29 January, while Al Nassr take on Inter Miami on 1 February,  And Al Nassr play Al-Hilal on 8 February.
