Whisper appointed host broadcaster for Usyk vs Dubois fight

Whisper has been chosen by K2 Promotions to produce the world feed host broadcast for Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois in Wroclaw, Poland, on 26 August.

Whisper will deliver coverage to audiences across the globe, with international broadcast partners including TNT Sports Box Office in the UK, ESPN+ in the US and Megogo in Ukraine and Poland.

The fight will be Usyk’s first time in the ring since defending his WBA, IBF and WBO belts against Anthony Joshua in 2022. This time he faces another Brit, in the form of big punching Londoner Daniel Dubois, in a place that holds much significance for the Ukrainian fighter. Poland is where Usyk won his first world title and a country currently housing over 2 million Ukrainian refugees, so Wroclaw will represent an adopted hometown for the fighter for the event. A capacity crowd of 42,000 is expected in the Tarczynski Arena to support him, only two days after Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Whisper continues to deliver box office fight nights. In 2022, it produced the world feed and host broadcast of the anticipated heavyweight rematch, Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II, shown in 180+ countries, in addition to delivering a worldwide promo, via Whisper Create.

In February this year, it delivered the host broadcast of the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury cruiserweight fight. Whisper is production partner for Channel 5’s live free-to-air fight nights, in conjunction with Wasserman Boxing and also produces Bellator.

Whisper’s production team is led by executive producer John Curtis, who has worked in boxing for the past 15 years on headline pay-per-view events, and Sarah Warnock as production executive. Whisper will also work with a wide range of Ukrainian technical partners to deliver this significant event.

Curtis said: “Whisper is delighted to once again have been working with Olexander Usyk, Alexander Krassyuk and K2 Promotions over the past two months. We are equally delighted to be working with a brilliant Ukrainian technical team, to put on what is going to be a really special and important event for boxing and one in which a win for Usyk will put him back at the top of the pound-for-pound rankings and on the path to an undisputed clash with Tyson Fury.”
