Alexander to head SDNsquare as Vermaele joins VRT Belgium

Henry Alexander will become CEO of SDNsquare in January 2019, with the company’s co-founder Lieven Vermaele taking up a new postion as COO of VRT.

Vermaele will remain as chairman of the board and a key shareholder of SDNsquare. Alexander brings 20 years’ experience in broadcast, media and IT to SDNsquare.

His previous positions include head of broadcast operations and mobile productions for the Belgian public service media organisation RTBF and senior vice president market and products at EVS.

He joins SDNsquare as of November 2018 and will work alongside Vermaele until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. Luc Andries, the other co-founder of SDNsquare, remains as CTO.

SDNsquare is a technology partner for companies embracing the shift to IP production. The arrival of Alexander reflects the maturing of the company, with its patented network control solution GRID that has proved itself at major global events.
