Broadcast Solutions and LGZ target replay low-end
It’s getting crowded at the low end of the replay market. While only the like of Grass Valley have deep enough projects to challenge EVS’ market dominance at the top end of things, any number of players are piling into the lower end of the market. Latest entrant is from Germany’s Broadcast Solutions (sales) and LGZ Broadcasting Tech (development) and simply called just.REPLAY.
Prototypes were shown at IBC and the unit is now shipping.
“The functions are reduced to the essential,”explains Tobias S. Gramm, Technical Sales Manager at Broadcast Solutions. “It is based on Linux and very easy to handle without additional slo-motion or replay skills. It should definitely not replace an EVS, but it can be used at many productions where an EVS with operator is oversized, as well as as a permanent recording device.”
A quick rundown of the key features includes 3x HD/SD SDI inputs with output loop, 1x HD/SD SDI PGM output, 4ch embedded audio, DVI-D multiviewer output with1920x1080 pixel, 8-10 hours record time with SSD, up to 20 hours record time with SATA disks, LGZ USB-Controller with T-Bar, Jog Control and Soft-Touch-Buttons, 650 Watt power supply 100-240V AC.
