IBC 2019: Slomo.tv boosts Dominator for studios, OB vans and eSports

At IBC slomo.tv will demonstrate significant new functionality in its flagship 4K broadcast production server system, Dominator AT/12G. Slomo.tv has expanded the server’s capabilities when working with 3G/HD signals and introduced new features that make the server appropriate for both studio and OB van system integration.

First introduced at IBC 2018, Dominator AT/12G is equipped with 12G SDI interfaces and supports 662 configuration for 4K resolution: 6 recording+6 search+2 playback channels + FX.

Slomo.tv has expanded the server’s capabilities when working with 3G/HD signals. While the previous model had the same 662 configuration for all resolutions, now, the latest version working in 3G/HD replay mode empowers operators to handle simultaneously 14 recording channels, 14 search channels, 2 playback channels + FX. A second workplace option for the Dominator AT/12G server supports two replay operators working in parallel and independently in 772 mode: 7 recording+7 search+ 2 playback channels + FX.

With this extended functionality Dominator AT/12G is suited to use in eSports, where the main requirement is the support of a large number of incoming 3G signals in a single device.

The latest version of Dominator offers a server platform for studios and OB vans, since the choice of equipment for OB vans focuses on the ability to use it both for multi-channel recording and slow-motion replays. The server is designed to work with a large number of channels, to provide slow motion replays at major sports competitions and recording for nonlinear editing of large-scale TV shows and events. It provides simultaneous recording of up to 16 channels of HD video with ProRes 422 or AVID DNxHD codecs on hard drives or NAS. Dominator AT/12G is equipped with 8 DMRT racks for toolless/trayless installation of standard 3.5″ SATA HDDs.
