Sports Broadcasting Achievements 2023

In 2023, SVG Europe will honour and explore the outstanding projects, teams and individuals that have pushed sports broadcasting and production forward in 2023 via the new Sports Broadcasting Achievements 2023, along with the Outstanding Audio Innovation Achievement and the Outstanding Contribution to European Sports Broadcasting.

SVG Europe Sports Broadcasting Achievements 2023

This new end-of-year celebration of the industry will feature four projects selected by a panel of industry experts who will consider organisations and projects of all sizes from across Europe that have experimented, embraced new technology, taken risks, and deployed new and innovative solutions that have demonstrably advanced the way sports content is captured, managed, manipulated and delivered.

The four projects will be presented as a dedicated section during the Future Sport event in November. They will be delivered as in-depth case studies, providing attendees with the opportunity to learn about some of the European sports broadcasting industry’s most innovative and ambitious initiatives, productions, facility builds and applications of technology. As part of the Future Sports event, the case studies about cutting-edge projects will help form part of an editorial programme that will provide attendees with insight into the future direction of sports production and distribution.

Each case study will be moderated by a member of the SVG Europe editorial team and will feature presentations, interviews and video that explore and explain in detail how the project was conceived, managed and delivered, the challenges that were overcome as well as the impact on the industry and benefit for viewers.

Outstanding Audio Innovation Achievement

This will recognise a sports production or broadcasting innovation in the field of sound that has delivered a new way of experiencing or delivering sports television audio. The recipient will be selected by a panel of industry experts who will consider the innovative use of new technology, the lasting impact of new production techniques and the benefit to the success of overall production. The innovation could be part of a multi-day tournament or event, a season-long league or a single match, contest or competition. The presentation will be made during the Audio Summit in London in October.

Outstanding Contribution to European Sports Broadcasting

The Outstanding Contribution to European Sports Broadcasting will honour someone who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the European sports broadcasting industry, recognising an individual who has had a positive impact on the way sports content is produced and/or shared. The recipient will be selected by a panel of industry experts and the presentation will be made during the Sport Production Summit in Amsterdam in September.
