The company, which has been part of IBM since 2014,  allows customers to access Aspera’s most advanced core technologies, features and capabilities, combining innovations with the company’s file transfer technology.

“We‘re delighted to renew our membership with SVG Europe and continue our long-standing connection with Europe’s community of professional distributors and providers of sports content,” said Richard Heitmann, VP marketing, Aspera.

Heitmann continued: “SVG Europe is the ideal platform for Aspera to showcase its latest cloud and streaming solutions within a key market. Its dedicated and experienced editorial teams lead industry discussion through an abundance of original and relevant content for broadcast organisations, professional teams, leagues, and facilities.

“Aspera’s software has transformed the digital media supply chain. We’ve connected live sporting events with production teams, distributors and viewers, and made it possible for sports broadcasters and distributors to adopt the most efficient, reliable solutions to rapidly deliver content around the world, no matter the distance and size. We’ve welcomed new opportunities for media organisations to significantly reduce operating costs, grow their existing technical offering and boost their position in the sports broadcasting market,” added Heitmann.

With its new hosted service, IBM Aspera On Cloud, Heitmann  stated the company is, “committed to helping sports companies quickly transfer, exchange and deliver content from any location, to anywhere with anyone”. He said it is an ideal solution for sports broadcasters working on a global basis with live content.

“This also goes for the Aspera Streaming for Video solution which utilises our FASPStream technology to centralise real time production with high bit-rate programming. Improving workflow efficiencies, the Aspera Streaming for Video solution eliminates the need to co-locate any production staff at remote venues and stadiums,” concluded Heitmann.
