Broadcast Rental provides extensive RF capabilities for European Athletics Championships 2016
July 6-10 saw the cream of the world’s athletics community descend on Amsterdam for the 2016 European Athletics Championships. Whilst NOS served as the host broadcaster and United provided the core broadcast facilities, Broadcast Rental handled the extensive RF requirements.
More than 330 crew members worked on the event, which took place at a variety of locations throughout the city, including the Olympic Stadium, Museum Square and Vondel Park.
At the Olympic Park, the RF infrastructure delivered multilateral 6-way diversity capabilities with Domo PRO-RXD receivers. Specific equipment used included: Sony PDW P1 steady-cams, with Domo H.264 transmitters and Videosys camera control; one Movi Rig with Canon C300, with Domo Solo Nano transmitter and camera control developed in-house by Broadcast Rental); one Sony PDW P1 in Flyline, with Domo H 264 transmitters and Videosys camera control; and one Sony HDC-2500, with Domo H 264 transmitters and Videosys camera control.
Also in the Olympic Park, a unilateral 6-way diversity capability with Domo PRO-RXD receiver featured a single hand-held Grass Valley LDK 8000, used in conjunction with Domo H.264 transmitters and Videosys camera control. An indentical set-up was utilised for event presentation RF.
For both Museum Square and Vondel Park, Broadcast Rental also oversaw identical multilateral four-way diversity RF capabilities with Domo PRO-RXD receivers. Equipment used in both spaces included handheld Grass Valley LDX 80 cameras, Domo H 264 transmitters, and Videosys camera control.
