BVE 2015: EditShare to introduce new video server release for sports and more

The EditShare BVE 2015 show lineup will feature the first showing of the new Geevs v7 video server release for post, broadcast and sports, along with the latest version of the company’s high-performance EditShare shared storage platform integrated with the new Flow 3.2 media asset management and Ark (latest version) archive and backup solutions.

Also on hand will be the portable EditShare Field 2 shared storage system featuring high-performance Solid State Drives.

Included across the breadth of EditShare storage solutions ( XStream EFS, XStream, Energy, Field 2 and Ultra), the latest EditShare v7 shared storage application maximises media sharing capabilities for NLE workgroups. With advanced project sharing and industry-leading stream counts for Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Lightworks and all other major NLEs, EditShare v7 intelligently reserves bandwidth for high-priority activities, such as real-time capture or playout, and limits the bandwidth of low-priority activities.

Fully integrated with EditShare shared storage and archiving products, and now available for 3rd party storage solutions, Flow provides a central platform to manage all media assets and production processes from ingest, asset logging, browsing and content retrieval. The latest Flow v3.2 adds support for industry-standard 4K codecs, unique file upload/download capabilities that expand remote collaboration (AirFlow), and new, fully-automated transcoding and delivery options.

Geevs Broadcast Servers have a long history of success within a wide range of demanding workflows including complex newsroom integration, live sports with instant replay, and multi-camera studio ingest. Making its debut at BVE 2015, the new Geevs v7 release includes a raft of feature updates including single client control of multi-server playback and recording, and Flow MAM platform integration. This comprehensive release also includes dedicated tools for Geevs Sports, Geevs Studio MC and Geevs Live, providing unique functionality to fine-tune any broadcast or production workflow.

Finally, Field 2, EditShare’s quiet, portable shared storage solution, now supports Solid State Drives (SSD), offering users up to six-times the performance as compared to the enterprise-class 7200 RPM drives. Ideal for on-location shoots, ENG trucks and remote offices, the turnkey Field 2 platform features Flow media asset management and file ingest, advanced project sharing/bin locking, and archiving capabilities in an all-in-one, high-performance, rugged chassis.
