Elevating Women in Sport adds Premier League Productions’ Anna Ward and Women’s Sports Group’s Steph Harries to speaker line up at Sky Sports

Naomi Schiff, former professional racing driver turned Sky Sports presenter, is set to take the stage at Elevating Women in Sport at Sky Sports

Joining the speaker line up at Elevating Women in Sport, an in-person event from SVG Europe Women and Sky Sports taking place on Tuesday 5 July, are Premier League Productions’ director of production and operations, Anna Ward and Women’s Sports Group’s managing director, Steph Harries.

Being held at Sky Central, London on 5 July from 3pm, Ward and Harries will join fellow industry experts The FA’s head of the women’s professional game, Kelly Simmons, Naomi Schiff, former professional racing driver turned Sky Sports presenter, and Sky Sports’ Jo Osborne, executive producer. Ward will discuss career opportunities behind the camera and Harries will be tackling the production of women’s sport and finding the female fan.

Guests will have the opportunity to talk to trained operators about their roles and get hands-on with kit including a cricket presentation pod, steadi-cam, jib, cloud production set up, Piero graphics, and even a makeup demonstration

Following a keynote interview with Schiff, Harries will join the panel titled Maximising the growth of the women’s game, alongside Simmons and Osborne. Women’s Sports Group is a specialist sports partnership creating compelling opportunities to promote, enhance and empower women’s sport. Prior to being MD at Women’s Sports Group, Harries was BBC Sport’s controller of production.

Talking of production, Ward will then join SVG Europe Women head, Heather McLean, to discuss getting hands-on behind the scenes, career opportunities behind the camera, and why we need more women and people of colour to join the sports broadcasting industry.

This will be followed by the chance for guests to network over drinks and nibbles and get hands-on with broadcasting kit while talking to the trained operators about their roles, including cricket presentation pod, Steadicam, jib, cloud production set up, Piero graphics, and even a makeup demonstration.

Elevating Women in Sport will take place at Sky Central, Osterley, London on Tuesday 5 July. Doors open at 3pm, with speakers taking the stage at 4pm. Find out more and register here
