Football Summit: First speakers announced for 21 April online event

Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga and Ligue 1 to all feature

Speakers from BT Sport, Canal+, Mediapro, Sportcast, Facebook and more will take part in SVG Europe’s Football Summit, sponsored by EVS, when it takes place online on 21 April 2021.

Hosted by football presenter and reporter Natalie Quirk, the Football Summit will cover several key football broadcasting-related topics, including fan engagement and viewer experiences, remote and decentralised production, graphics and data, and next-generation production tools. Sustainability and responsible production will also be under the spotlight.

BT Sport chief operating officer Jamie Hindhaugh and Timeline Television managing director Dan McDonnell will discuss de-centralised and remote production for coverage of the Premier League, National League and FA Cup.

Sebastien Audoux, head of sports digital content at Canal+, and guests, will focus on engaging Ligue 1 fans with mobile and online interactivity.

While Tim Achberger, head of innovation & technology at Sportcast, and Emili Planas, CTO and operations manager at Mediapro, will handle next-generation football production tools and how they might be used on the Bundesliga and LaLiga.

The event will open with a manifesto for football coverage from Ronan Joyce, Lead, EMEA sports team partnerships at Facebook.

More speakers will be announced in the coming days.
