Formula 1 unveils data-optimisation challenge
Formula 1 connectivity specialist Tata Communications highlights a new initiative, Challenge 1, that requires entrants to demonstrate new and insightful information that can be derived from Formula One Management’s live data feeds. Applicants should also propose how this information could be visually packaged in order to add suspense and excitement to the audience experience.
Challenge 1 provides the scope for entrants to not only define the data form, but also visualise it for application in any form, ranging from TV graphics to an additional data page to complement the information that is currently presented by Formula One Management to F1 teams, the media, guests of the Formula One Paddock Club, and the consumers via Formula1.com and the Official F1 app.
The challenge will require entrants to demonstrate both their creative flair and technical knowledge in their submission, as well as providing a compelling vision.
A grand prize of USD $50,000 will be awarded to the winning individual or team. Other prizes will include VIP trips to the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2015.3.
Mehul Kapadia, managing director, F1 Business, Tata Communications says: “Driving innovation is at the heart of our business and the F1 Connectivity Innovation Prize is one of the latest initiatives that we are bringing to the world of Formula 1. In our third year with the sport, this new global platform will allow us, together with Formula One Management and MERCEDES AMG PERTONAS, to connect with the creative thinkers across the world to push the boundaries of technology and design innovation in this fast-paced sport.”
The closing date for submissions is 1600 GMT on 18 July. For more information, and to download the entry form, please visit https://prize.tatacommunications.com/challenge-1.
