Imagen introduces live streaming service in new release
Imagen Ltd has introduced live ingest to extend the capabilities of its video management platform, which is most closely associated with the distribution of large-scale broadcast resolution archives for the top tier of global sports federations. Once enabled, users can enjoy the full Imagen feature set, such as searching, clipping and downloading – and with the upcoming release of Imagen version 6, users will now also be able to watch and work directly with the live feeds.
The new live-to-archive streaming service allows users to watch and time shift live feeds from games and tournaments. Goals, incidents and highlights can all be clipped from the stream in real time and published to a subscribing audience or social media channels. The incoming ‘growing files’ are also captured by Imagen and added to the archive where they can be accessed and repurposed later.
Live feeds can also be logged in real time using Imagen’s Media Logger tool for rapid one click shotlisting of valuable sports media.
Responding to recently published research, such as the Beyond Live white paper, Imagen say that they are accelerating the convergence of live and archive workflows, to deliver more efficient and economically scalable cloud based media management. For example, sports media logging has traditionally been an office based task using expensive desk-top equipment, usually taking place long after the event has finished. Imagen now offers the ability for remote teams to be creating match logs in real-time via a web browser, anywhere in the word. Similarly, digital teams can splice segments from the live feed, pair with related clips in the archive and post directly to their twitter feed; enhancing fan engagement with exciting story telling.
Charlie Horrell, CEO, Imagen, said: “Our new live-to-archive feature takes Imagen into the live arena. Our customers can now view, shotlist, clip and archive live feeds to streamline media operations, reach new audiences on social media and distribute content to customers more quickly. Imagen has established itself as the industries’ most complete media portal – providing the central hub for any organisations media services – accelerating the convergence of live and archive workflows, to deliver more efficient and economically scalable cloud based media management.”
