Maracana revamps with AH GLD mixer

One of the most well-established stadiums in South America, Maracana has lately been closed for an extensive renovation, as a result of which it now sports and an Allen & Heath GLD-80 mixer at the core of an Electro-Voice sound system distributed via an Audinate Dante network.

Augusto Bergamim, sound manager and system programmer at the Maracana, comments: “The main reason we chose GLD was because of Allen & Heath’s fantastic sound quality, reliability and ease of use.”

The stadium reopened with a friendly match featuring Ronaldo and Bebeto, and has since hosted a friendly match between the national sides of Brazil and England. The Maracana will host globally high-profile events such as the final games of the Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup in 2014.
