MOOV outlines tight turnaround live graphics provision for Dubai World Cup Carnival
MOOV has revealed details of its involvement in the latest Dubai World Cup Carnival, which sees it provide live race graphics for the world feed coverage from the Meydan racecourse in Dubai. Using race data from PA Sports and local sources, the company is supplying a full suite of live racing graphics.
In addition, it is providing a ‘Pick6’ lottery graphic, in Arabic, for use on the large screens positioned trackside. Later in the season – which will culminate in the Dubai World Cup on 26 March – MOOV will also provide live studio graphics from Ealing, London.
The entire project was delivered on an extremely tight turnaround, with only four weeks’ gap from the first contact to a full system needing to be in place in Dubai. MOOV was able to order two new graphics system from ChyronHego in the US on the Monday, have them delivered to London by the Friday, and then prepped and shipped to Dubai by the following Wednesday. Simultaneously, MOOV updated its graphics interface and worked with RacingUK to get a full graphics package designed.
Duncan Foot, managing director of MOOV, comments: “We have a long and proud history with horseracing so it was a real honour to have been selected to provide the graphics facilities at Meydan. To have built on our successes with BBC Sport, Sunset + Vine, Channel 4 and IMG over the past decade has been a real testament to the quality of staff that have worked on this sport for so long. We continue to innovate our horseracing graphics technology and believe that we are world-leaders in this arena, so we are very proud to now be providing our products [for] the world’s richest horse race, the Dubai World Cup, in March.”
