Next Gen Audio Summit: Bianchi and Duarte join automated audio mixing panel for 16 October event

For the fourth successive year, SVG Europe has joined forces with Dolby to stage the Next Generation Audio Summit. The 2019 event will take place on Wednesday 16 October at the Dolby Theatre in London’s Soho Square.

The Next Generation Audio Summit is a focused exploration of the new technologies shaping broadcast audio workflows for sports production. This year the programme, which is now live here, revolves around the practical implementation of immersive sound across a range of different sports.

A highlight panel session will be ‘Never Mind the Ball Kicks, Here’s the Sound of the Crowd’. This session will present and discuss the use case for automated audio mixing technology and intelligent audio capture of the live sound atmosphere.

In the chair will be broadcast technical consultant Robin Broomfield, and joining him on stage for an in-depth discussion will be Ollie Bianchi, Gearhouse Broadcast, lead audio engineer; Nuno Duarte, Olympic Broadcasting Services, senior manager audio; Felix Krückels, professor for broadcast production and system design, Media Campus Dieburg; Dr Rob Oldfield, Salsa Sound, director; and Ian Rosam, Video Sound Services.

This invitation-only Summit will also feature high-profile case studies, an update on current standards initiatives and – in time-honoured SVG Europe fashion – plenty of networking opportunities.
