Nitrocross renews with Aurora Media Worldwide as broadcast production partner

Aurora Media Worldwide picked as broadcast partner for Nitrocross once again

Nitrocross has reappointed Aurora Media Worldwide as broadcast production partner for the exciting new season ahead. Aurora will once again create the world feed and global highlights programmes under this renewed contract.

Specialising in the development and production of live, premium global sports events, Aurora is recognised as a creator of innovative, formatted international live broadcasts, which are widely distributed around the world.

Capturing the thrill of the series, Aurora will use a combination of track and RF cameras, live on-boards, drones and FX cameras, video-game inspired shots will take audiences in close to the action, with a refreshed and innovative suite of data driven graphics to tell the on-track story.

The presentation team include Jarod DeAnda as host for the programmes and the voice of rallycross himself, Andrew Coley, is once again onboard as lead commentator. Katie Osbourne will be reporting from the paddock, getting up close and personal to authentically showcase drivers, team members, friends, family, and fans on the ground.

Originally launched by global icon Travis Pastrana and the action sports leaders of Nitro Circus as Nitro Rallycross, this disruptive motorsport property has now been rebranded as Nitrocross. This change reflects the dynamic property’s rapid evolution, having grown beyond its rallycross roots into a unique discipline unlike anything else in motorsport.

Nitrocross – cars that fly!

The new season of Nitrocross sees the series visit a host of brand-new tracks and classic racing venues, all of which will be given the Nitro touch of ‘cars that fly’ and ‘tracks that thrill’.

Nitrocross 2023-24 comprises 10 rounds in six locations across the US, starting at MidAmerica Outdoors Oklahoma on 16 to 17 June. This opening stop will feature the debut of a radical new track, designed by Pastrana, that promises to take racing excitement to another level.

The competition will consist of multiple classes, with the premier division being the all-electric Group E which captures the spirt of the iconic Group B rallycross cars of the 1980s. The FC1-X delivers the electric equivalent of 1,070 peak horsepower (800 kW) and accelerates from 0-60 in just 1.4 seconds, faster than an F1 car.

The ringleader of Nitro, Travis Pastrana will be joining the presentation team as well as competing behind the wheel as he lines up alongside the likes of reigning Group E champion Robin Larsson, European rallycross winner Andreas Bakkerud, fast-rising Fraser McConnell, the Eriksson brothers and more.

Brett Clarke, president at Nitrocross, Thrill One Sports & Entertainment said: “We are excited to set out on this new chapter for Nitrocross alongside an experienced partner in Aurora Media Worldwide. Drawing from their expertise across premier sport and specifically motorsport, Aurora has captured all of the drama and intensity from the pits to the podium, then seamlessly delivered every moment to thrill-loving racing fans worldwide. We look forward to another lap with the Aurora team this season.”

Lawrence Duffy, managing director, Aurora Media Worldwide said: “We are thrilled to be continuing the adventure with Nitrocross. Last season was huge for the series with the debut of the Group E class and the FC1-X, the fastest electric vehicle in racing. This season they are turbo charging everything. Bigger tracks, bigger grids and bigger jumps. Nobody can put on an all-US show like Travis Pastrana and the Nitro team. Combined with the ambition of Thrill One, it’s not just the cars that can fly.”
