Panasonic nominated for three categories at Gear of The Year Awards 2017

Panasonic has been nominated for three categories at Pro Moviemaker’s 2017 Gear of the Year Awards for Innovation of the Year, Launch of the Year and Cinema Camera of the Year.

Pro Moviemaker’s Gear of The Year Awards 2017 celebrates the best of broadcasting and pro AV products on the market, recognising new technologies which push the boundaries of what is possible.

Panasonic’s AU-EVA1 has been recognised and honoured for two awards: Innovation of the Year; and Launch of the Year. The cinematic compact camera, to be officially unveiled at this year’s IBC event, has been extremely well received thanks to its newly-developed 5.7k Super 35mm sensor, dual-native sensitivity and internal recording capabilities making it a suitable option for a wide array of applications including documentaries, commercials and music-videos.

Panasonic has also been nominated for Cinema Camera of the Year with the VariCam LT. With its true-to-life VariCam look, wide dynamic range, and compact and lightweight body, the VariCam LT includes dual-native sensitivity of 800 and 5000 as a unique feature and has supported the likes of ITV’s factual drama Little Boy Blue as well as BBC NHU’s Elephant, Family & Me.

Oliver Newland, UK marketing manager for broadcast and pro AV at Panasonic, said: “We are extremely happy to be nominated for three awards. We have seen the VariCam LT being used on a wide array of productions shot in the UK. We are particularly impressed with the AU-EVA1 being nominated in two categories, and we are excited for its introduction over the coming months.”
