In addition to its Sport Production Summit, Sport Production Awards and Networking Party, and Remote Production Audio Forum, SVG Europe is delighted to announce that it will host a Women in Sports Media networking reception during IBC week. Part of the ongoing Women in Sports Media initiative, the relaxed networking event will take place from 1630-1800 on Saturday 16 September at the RAI centre’s First Floor Restaurant.

The goal is simple: to bring together women in the sports broadcast industry for 90 minutes of drinks, canapés, and conversation. It’s an opportunity to share your thoughts on your IBC 2017 experience, meet old friends, and hopefully make new ones!

The event has been coordinated in conjunction with Lise Cosimi-Breant, chief of external relations at HBS and the head of the Women in Sports Media initiative, who comments: “After more than 20 years spent in the sports broadcast industry, I do not have many female colleagues in this industry, and the few ones I have I rarely see them as they are not joining major trade shows abroad – or rarely. It is a great opportunity that SVG is offering women in this industry to get together at least once every year to be able to meet other women for networking. We have a lot to exchange and share, and we are now building a very strong and powerful network worldwide.

“I sincerely encourage all the women present at IBC to come and join us. They will have a chance to become another link of the chain that we are building day after day. They will be able to discover all the initiatives taken especially for them in this industry, but also share with us their own ideas.

“SVG is giving us a chance to feel part of a larger group, so let’s not miss it! As an African Proverb says, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ I count on you to join this exceptional group of motivated women and leave a legacy to the next generation. Your voice counts!”
