Head of engineering and technical operations for Olympic Broadcasting Services, Sotiris Salamouris, is the latest prestigious addition to a panel on the evolution of Olympics broadcasting ‘from Russia to Rio’, which promises to be one of the star attractions at next week’s SVG Europe-organised SportTech 2014 event.

Technologies, workflows and connectivity are changing the way European broadcasters approach Olympic Games coverage and the kind of options broadcasters now have when it comes to planning production bases and number of personnel involved. In this session, broadcasters and engineering personnel discuss the coverage of Sochi 2014 – and the lessons that can be learned in planning for Rio 2016 and PyeongChang 2018.

Joining Salamouris and the session’s moderate, SVG editorial director Ken Kerschbaumer, will be: Christine Espeland, TV2 Norway, head of Olympics; Jens Knudsen, TV2 Sports, senior director; and Richard Morgan, BBC Sport, chief engineer.

“Sotiris Salamouris is the latest great addition to a SportTech programme that promises to be the strongest and most illuminating at an SVG Europe-organised event to date,” says SVG Europe general manager Joe Hosken.
