Tata Communications uses Skyline Communications’ DataMiner platform for network management
Tata Communications has collaborated with Skyline Communications, a leading name in end-to-end multi-vendor network management and OSS software solutions, to use the latter’s DataMiner platform as the end-to-end network, service, SLA, and operational support system for its global media services.
“The DataMiner multi-vendor platform monitors and orchestrates services across any technology, regardless of vendor or type of technology, end to end. The platform is fully agnostic to specific technologies, and as such has the unique capability to book, reserve and activate services truly end to end,” says Pramod Gupta, regional account manager at Skyline Communications. “With DataMiner, operators can orchestrate complex services that run over a broad collection of video compression encoders, NetInsight SDH links, video decoders, etc., all in one go.”
“It is our constant endeavor to ensure that we keep our service offerings ahead of the curve to ensure top-notch quality to be able to deliver a world-class customer experience,” said Brian Morris, general manager of Tata Communications’ Media and Entertainment Services business. “The DataMiner Connectivity Framework orchestrates the media paths end-to-end, from ingress point to egress, affording us more insight into our network.”
“Our market-leading platform provides end-to-end visibility and dashboards on the quality, performance and availability of the network, the services and the customer experience,” says Ben Vandenberghe, CEO of Skyline Communications. “Using DataMiner, our customers have the freedom to deploy any technology from any vendor in the network, now and in the future, as DataMiner is guaranteed to interoperate with any type of device and system regardless of protocol or supplier.”
The new DataMiner Service and Resource Manager (SRM) is the foundation of any dynamic media network. DataMiner SRM is unique, as this technology truly links service and resource management with the network itself, i.e. an operator can only book and activate resources that are effectively available for use. DataMiner makes no assumptions that resources may be available, but rather checks availability in real-time, at any time. DataMiner is guaranteed to lower operational expenses and enables operators to focus on getting the most out of their infrastructure.
