Vimond CEO to detail how to reach multi-platform consumers

Vimond CEO Helge Høibraaten will participate as part of the panel for the IBC conference session “Reaching the Consumer Across Multiple Platforms,” to be held on Sept. 8 from 11.30-13.30 at the RAI exhibition center.

Part of the conference’s Content Creation and Innovation stream, the session will address the challenges content owners and broadcasters face in working to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience to the viewer across multiple platforms. Questions raised and answered during the session include: which platforms to target for a cost-effective presence; how to balance the competing interests of platform providers against the need to deliver consistency and quality; how to ensure content is easy to find; and how to support multiple codecs without breaking the bank.

Høibraaten will discuss the experiences of multi-platform providers to date, using specific examples from users of the Vimond online TV management platform. Drawing on his 10 years of experience, he will share what he believes to be key factors supporting broadcasters’ successful transition towards over-the-top (OTT) services.

Widely recognized as a pioneer in online TV services, Høibraaten and his former team at TV 2 Norway built Scandinavia’s most attractive and profitable OTT services under the TV 2 Sumo brand. During his tenure at Norway’s largest commercial broadcaster, he oversaw in-house technical developments that resulted in an award winning IP broadcast platform which other regional broadcasters asked to source from TV 2. Today, Høibraaten is CEO of Vimond Media Solutions, a spin-off of TV 2 established to commercialize this unique platform internationally. Prior to TV 2, he served as CEO of Mosaikk Media and TV Producer in Nordisk Film.
