In terms of overall business-activity levels, what have the last 12 months been like for SOS Global Express?
The past year has been full of activity from a project point of view as well as expanding a growing team. Our business has been extremely busy on both day-to-day operations covering all sporting and news events, as well as for such events as the London 2012 Games, Global X Games Tour (Brazil, Spain, Germany, and USA), São Paulo IndyCar, and the Confederations Cup.
What has been the most significant development for the company in terms of its overall global profile?
The [launch] of SOS Global GmbH in Hamburg, Germany, has been a fantastic addition, which, when combined with SOS Global Express Ltd in London, provides a solid operational base throughout Europe.
In what ways will the new office in Hamburg assist/enhance your European presence?
The Hamburg team consists of experienced professionals with proficiency in events and exhibitions, which will be able to assist with all projects throughout the EMEA region. These individuals have been closely working with teams in London and the USA and are fully prepared to manage the Confederations Cup, Sochi Olympic Games, and 2014 World Cup.
Looking forward, what can you tell us about your involvement in the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia?
Working in cooperation with broadcasters and vendors throughout Europe and the world, we are able to organise special services for the games. Weekly direct charter flights from Europe to Sochi have been scheduled and will commence Nov. 18, until just prior to the Games’ beginning. On the return, SOS will be offering direct charters from Sochi to Europe. With a short period between the Sochi Games and 2014 World Cup, SOS is able to offer unique options from Sochi to Brazil. Additionally, we have a dedicated operations and customer-service team in place.
Similarly, what can you reveal about your planned involvement in the 2014 World Cup?
Following up on the success of the Confederations Cup, São Paulo IndyCar, and X Games Brazil, we are arriving to the World Cup in a strong position to handle all broadcasters. SOS Global is supporting the host broadcaster with international logistics and a team of local staff in Brazil. Our network of operational staff in UK, Germany, and the USA will all work together to ensure success. The Brazil Games have a team of operations and customer service in place. Additionally, unique options are return shipments directly to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.
