Videlio, AMP Visual TV upsize for landmark ‘giant OB’ project

Broadcast systems integrator Videlio and AMP Visual TV are highlighting the development of a new production unit concept throughout IBC 2015. Possessing the capacity of two substantial OB vehicles, the new unit – set to be ready to enter service in 2016 – will be geared towards major sports events, live music productions, festivals and more.

Dubbed Millennium Signature 12, the vehicle features an operational surface area of 76sqm, with a volume of 165sqm – thereby offering space for substantial production facilities and a sizeable VIP area.

There are 40 configurable multipurpose workplaces, two separate shading and monitoring rooms, two separate video control rooms, and a 15sqm production & VIP space.

Whilst a conventional OB Vehicle has around five cold racks, this Millennium Signature 12 unit will have 540RU available in 12 racks inside the Central Apparatus Room.

Other features of the 32-tonne facility include 4K capability, IP and SDI technology, a power supply system providing up to 120kW, and a 100kW air-conditioning system.

The unit is fitted with two side extensions covering its full length. When the OB vehicle is completely deployed, its surface is extended by up to 2.4 times its normal size.
