For-A announces new advanced research JV with InSync Technology
For-A Japan has announced the formation of a new advanced research joint venture with InSync Technology, UK. The new company, named InSync Technology Products, has been formed to enable collaboration between UK and Japan on the design and development of mainly 8K UHDTV signal processing equipment, to support current and future international programme distribution.
“With the formation of this new joint venture, we are able to unite InSync and For-A’s most talented engineers in creating highly novel products which address immediate and forthcoming 8K market requirements,” said Katsuaki Kiyohara, president of For-A. “We chose to partner with InSync because of their world-leading motion compensation technology,” he added.
InSync Technology is an employee-owned company, established in the UK in 2003. InSync designs and develops a range of software and hardware signal processing equipment, with a special focus on frame rate and format conversion.
“InSync has a deep portfolio of intellectual property based on many years of experience in motion compensated processing,” said Paola Hobson, MD at InSync Technology. “Our 4K UHDTV motion compensated standards converter, MCC-4K, is just one example of our proven leadership in conversion technology for the broadcast industry. Our partnership with FOR-A helps us address 8K market needs outside the UK.”
In addition to SD/HD/3G/12G format and frame rate conversion hardware, InSync has developed the FrameFormer software standards converter, which is the only motion compensated frame rate converter designed for CPU-only deployment. FrameFormer offers unique flexibility in support for Windows, Linux and Mac OS, and is also available as plug-ins for popular edit software.
