IMG Arena completes acquisition of Leap Gaming

IMG Arena, a sports data and technology supplier for the betting, media and performance sectors, has acquired Leap Gaming, a provider of high-end virtual games for online, mobile and retail markets.

Leap’s 3D motion-capture technology and products will be combined with official IP from IMG Arena’s extensive roster of rightsholder clients to unlock new revenue streams and provide sportsbooks operators and their consumers with an enhanced portfolio of engaging and varied content.

With the close of the acquisition, Leap’s Yariv Lissauer and his team of more than 50 will join the IMG Arena team, with Lissauer becoming senior director & general manager at IMG Arena.

Freddie Longe, president, IMG Arena, said: “The addition of Leap Gaming to our sports betting content portfolio will enable us to enhance our offer to sportsbooks and lead the way in shaping the future of sports betting entertainment. We are looking forward to unlocking even more revenue streams and forms of fan engagement for our clients.”

Lissauer added: “We are delighted to officially become part of IMG Arena, which has been a stakeholder in, and great partner to, Leap for the last four years. We are excited about the culture, product and technology synergies between our companies and teams, and the new opportunities that will arise from combining them.”

Established in 2014, with offices in Malta, Israel and Ukraine, Leap works with 120 sportsbook operators around the world. IMG Arena invested in Leap in 2018 and together they have previously launched official virtual sports betting products with Nascar and EuroLeague.

IMG Arena delivers live streaming and data feeds for more than 45,000 sports events annually, as well as for on-demand virtual sports products and front-end solutions including the UFC Event Centre. Its clients include the UFC, DP World Tour, PGA Tour, MLS and the FA.
